Application of Statistical Methods for Analysing Data by STATA

Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is  a growing centre of excellence in interdisciplinary education, research and development for food security. In addition to the academic degree programs, ICF also offers need based training programs.

Objectives of the Training Course:

  • Understand the key concepts of different statistical techniques, and
  • Analyze data using STATA.

  • Regression Analysis (Linear & Non-linear)
  • Dynamic Regression Modeling for Long-term Forecasting
  • Categorical Data Analysis (Logit, Probit & Tobit Regression)
  • Multilevel Modeling
  • Technical and Economic Efficiency Analysis
  • Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Repeated Measures ANOVA & Analysis of Covariance
  • Multivariate Analysis (Multivariate Regression, Principal Component Analysis, Principal Component Regression, Factor Analysis, Cluster Analysis & Discriminant Analysis)

Learning Outcomes:

After successful completion of the course participants are expected to be able to:

  • Detect appropriate statistical methodology for their respective potential research problem
  • Entry and analyze data by STATA
  • Interpret results obtained by statistical analysis
