Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is well known centre of excellence in inter-disciplinary education, research and development for food security throughout Bangladesh and even worldwide. In addition to the academic degree programs, need based training have also been important parts of the ICF activities. Considering the interest of the researcher, it is our pleasure to offer a special training program on statistical methods for applied research in Bangladesh. The details of the course are as follows:

Practical: Use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences for solving the research problems, data handling and management by SPSS, Tabular and graphical presentation of data and its interpretation, numerical description of data, parametric and nonparametric hypothesis testing

procedure for making decision, determine influencing factors of production and pricing on the basis of econometric modeling, forecasting production and prices data, data reduction procedure (Factor analysis) and finding the best treatment from experiment.It gives a lot of ideas about where and how statistical technique can be applied.
