Foreword

Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF) at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) was established in 2014 with a mission to offer interdisciplinary education, conduct research and provide consultancy and laboratory services in relation to food security. ICF has a unique opportunity to significantly contribute to the development of new knowledge and skills on food security in Bangladesh by virtue of its access to highly skilled experts and educators from multiple disciplines and sectors, from within BAU and from its external network. ICF is keen to build partnership and collaboration with reputed national and international organizations.

It is our great pleasure to announce a national conference to be jointly organized by ICF-BAU and our partner, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), with support from the Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) of Wageningen  University & Research (WUR), the Netherlands and under the auspices of the NUFFIC project (NICHE BGD-156).

The conference will be held at BARC, Fargate, Dhaka during 7-8 October 2017. The aim of this conference is to initiate the process of developing a shared future vision on interdisciplinary approaches in food and nutrition security in Bangladesh and to facilitate the process of developing partnership between ICF and national and international agencies.
