Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF) is a new centre at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) founded in 2013. This centre has been approved by BAU academic council and BAU syndicate in 2012. ICF has been working to promote food security through research, dissemination, education, community action and professional practice in Bangladesh. We take an interdisciplinary and systemic approach to agricultural practices, agricultural policies, climate change impacts, environmental sustainability, gender, health and socio-cultural aspects of food security. The Centre has mandates to shares information and facilitates dialogue among civil society organizations, universities and governments. ICF will host national and international conferences and are engaged with food security initiatives at local and regional levels. Currently ICF is implementing a NUFFIC supported capacity development project in partnership with Wageningen University of the Netherlands entitled âIntegrated management of crop-fish-water resources to enhance agricultural production systems towards sustainable food security in Bangladeshâ.
